Durbin cosponsored a resolution expressing vigorous support and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the state of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state. He also supported U.S. funding for Israel's Iron Dome defense program.
In recent months, Durbin has started to change his tune toward Israel's genocidal campaign. However, if he was actually concerned about the "increased and prolonged suffering in Gaza is not only intolerable for Palestinian civilians," he would see the role pro-Israel lobbies have played in that suffering and reject their money.
