Michigan Representative Hillary Scholten has sold her soul to Israeli lobbies for the price of $223,532. Horrid Hillary earns her nickname due to her strong ties to AIPAC groups. Hillary’s most recent pro-Israel bill she’s signed onto is the Strengthening the Israel-U.S. Alliance Act which provides Israel with $3.8 billion for their genocide operation in Palestine. Hillary issued a statement in April 2024 regarding her decision stating, “Today, I’m happy that the House finally came together to deliver much-needed aid to our allies while strengthening our national security. This package sends a strong, clear message that the United States will always support and stand with its allies during times of crisis.” Horrid Hillary’s sent an even clearer message that she supports and will financially back to genocide of Gaza.
In November 2023, Hillary joined some of her colleagues in congress to condemn a Palestine protest chant through an open letter. Hillary stated, “We reject the use of the phrase “from the river to the sea”— a phrase used by many, including Hamas, as a rallying cry for the destruction of the State of Israel and genocide of the Jewish people.” Hillary's conflation of anti-zionism with anti-semitism comes at a dangerous cost to the right of free speech, especially since the chant’s actual meaning is a call for Palestine’s liberation from the settler colonial state Israel. Just three months before Horrid Hillary released that letter she went on a AIPAC-affiliated trip to Israel alongside 24 House democrats. Minority Leader of the U.S House of Representatives, Hakeem Jeffries statement of the trip to Israel will, “reaffirm our commitment to the special relationship between the United States and Israel, one anchored in our shared democratic values and mutual geopolitical interests.”
