California Representative Jim Costa has earned him the nickname Corrupt Costa due to his unwavering support for Israel’s military interest despite his constituents urging him to call for a ceasefire. In order to receive Rep. Costa’s support, your pockets have to be as big as Israeli lobbyists. Alongside his colleagues, Corrupt Costa signed onto the Strengthening the Israel-U.S. Alliance Act, which provides Israel with $3.8 billion for their genocide operation in Palestine. Costa issued a statement in April 2024 regarding his decision stating, “America is stronger when it stands with its allies - we cannot turn our back on them now. These investments will not only deter greater threats but safeguard the foundation of democracies around the world. The world is watching, we must act now.” The investment Corrupt Costa speaks of destroyed, “62 percent of all homes in Gaza, equivalent to 290,820 housing units, and more than a million people are without homes.” And the world is watching congress members such as Costa approve and aid Israel’s genocide project in Gaza that has claimed over 39,000 innocent plus Palestinians lives, including over 15,000 children in that death toll.
Even more insulting is that Jim Costa has refused his Palestinian and Pro-Palestine constituents' request to meet for 8 months now. Local Fresno organizer Samai Muñoz commented, “Every meeting that was tentatively scheduled was canceled or pushed further out without adequate explanation or reason. This is not only an insult, but a violation of the values of democracy in this country.” On Jim Costa’s government official webpage, there is a section dedicated to resources for U.S. citizens in Israel, including a crisis intake form to help evaluate U.S.-Israeli out of the Middle East. While Gazan’s stuck in the strip have to pay $10,000 per person to evacuate the bomb torn area. Costa’s bias is clear as day, especially back in November 2023, he was one of the 22 Democrats to support the censure of his colleague Dem. U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib. Corrupt Costa has sold his soul to Israeli lobbyists, and the cost comes at the integrity of U.S. tax dollars.
