Senator Maria Cantwell is well-acquainted with AIPAC, having received $500,813 from the group to bolster her political campaign. Senator Maria Cantwell has used her legislative influence to ensure substantial funding for Israel's military operations. The most recent bill Cantwell signed onto was the Strengthening of Israel-U.S. Alliance Act, which provides Israel with $3.8 billion in unconditional military aid. This funding aligns with the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) deal between the U.S. and Israel, which was established in 2016 and outlines a commitment of $38 billion in military assistance over a ten-year period.

Senator Maria justified her vote by saying, “The supplemental also includes support for our Middle East ally, Israel, including […] $9 billion of humanitarian aid for Gaza, and for people caught in conflicts around the world. These conflicts have taken an immeasurable toll on the Palestinian and Ukrainian people.” The humanitarian aid Contradicting Cantwell is speaking of has not been able to enter Gaza due to Israeli soldiers and settlers physically blocking the aid from entering the famine-stricken area.

The United Nations reports indicate that over a dozen Palestinians have died due to airdrops from various nations attempting to deliver urgent aid amidst delays in food shipments at Gaza's border crossings. The casualties reportedly resulted from drowning while retrieving food packages from the sea or Gazans being crushed by falling aid boxes. Regardless of these facts, the aid remains insufficient to meet the needs of Gazans, who continue to suffer from ongoing bombings by Israel. Contradicting Cantwell has sold her soul to AIPAC, and Palestinians are feeling the burden of that price.
